We're going to revisit Artist Date Idea #1 and talk about some ideas for that creative kit that was created and set aside from that adventure.
If you recall, in Artist Date Idea #1, we filled a shoebox full of items to create an altered book with. Did you go on that artist date? If not, consider reading that article and giving it a try. If you did take yourself on that date, you’ve been waiting long enough for these project ideas. So, let’s get started!
Before starting an altered book project, I always like to come up with a theme. Because this is an Artist Date Idea, let’s think about creating a theme around where you’d like to work on your project. Here are some ideas to consider:
- ture themed book: h park, a section of your backyard, the beach or anywhere else you can spread a blanket out and get crafty. You’ll need to consider the wind, so be sure to bring some things to hold your paper elements down with. Or, you could hunt for rocks or branches to use as paperweights. While on your date, create leaf rubbings, bark rubbings and glue flat elements from nature into your book.
