In 2004, I decided to make some handmade Thank You cards for those who enjoy showing gratitude for the gifts they received over the holidays. Well, they were such a hit that I sold out of the samples I made and had to take special orders based on images I provided in a blog post. I was amazed at how such simple cards could be so popular. (I handmade the envelopes, as well.)
I've decided to do this again this year. In 2005 and 2006, life was way too hectic and the time for creation of these cards never presented itself. I have time this year, however, so I think it will be well spent creating these cards.
Do you send Thank You cards to those who send you gifts? Or, do you reserve your card sending strictly for holiday card sending? Do you think sending Thank You cards for holiday gifts is a strange concept or does it sound like something naturual to you? I'm interested in chatting about this with you! Each time my children receive a gift (for anything: birthdays, holidays, etc.), I encourage them to create and send a card to show their appreciation. It's always seemed like the "normal" thing to do and I hope they'll continue with this practice throughout their lives.
