What Magazines Do You Read?

Inspiration and Education

Mixed media artists love magazines without a doubt. Which ones do you read, though, without feeling the urge to rip them apart?

I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time throwing anything away. This is particularly true when it comes to magazines. I’ve noted this before in other blog entries, but it’s worth bringing up again today. Why? Because I want to talk about which magazines you read, hold on to, and do not rip apart for projects.

  • Do you have certain magazines you enjoy perusing for ideas and inspiration?
  • Which magazines do you buy or read in the library most often?
  • Are online magazines more your taste?
  • Is a subscription to magazines part of your yearly routines?

There are a number of magazines I can’t seem to live without, both for mixed media art ideas and other aspects of my life and career. They never enter my studio space, though; for fear that they might end up in the project pile. I keep them nestled snuggly in a wicker basket next to my (very old) rocking chair in the living room. They’re safe there. Do you have a safe spot where you keep your treasured magazines, or do you trust yourself to restrain from using them?
